In Taegung, the heavenly palace of the gods, lives Suyeong — a woman chosen to bear and raise divine children. Each child she raises grows up and descends to the human world, where they become a mudang, a shaman who answers the prayers and grievances of ordinary people. Aside from these children, Taegung is also home to dokkaebi spirits who serve the palace, but Suyeong is forbidden from speaking to them or drawing close. So when each child she has raised finally leaves, she is left alone to cherish their memory — the children forget her the moment they descend, and she can never see them again. One quiet day, lost in her thoughts, a divine child suddenly appears before her — and unlike all the others, this one still remembers her.
