Dain has been transported into the world of a superhero comic, and she has one goal: make sure her favorite character, the beleaguered hero Stardus, gets the happy ending she deserves. To help Stardus grow stronger, Dain voluntarily takes on the role of the villain Egostick, staging calculated attacks to push Stardus's abilities to their limits and heading off every dark event from the original story before it can happen. In doing so, she wins over the public — but also draws Stardus's suspicion. Little by little, though, the hero who once saw her as an enemy begins to open up, and before long Stardus's feelings toward Dain have shifted into something far more intense than suspicion.
