Seong-hun is a gold digger who married Su-yeon, a woman twenty-three years his senior, purely for the money. He thought he knew what he was getting into — until her entire family is suddenly wiped out overnight. Only four people survive the collapse of the household, and as a bitter inheritance dispute kicks off, a wealthy woman named Ji-a appears and sets her sights on Seong-hun. Desperate to escape the wreckage of Su-yeon's family and start fresh with Ji-a, he hatches a scheme: pretend to be a legitimate son of the household so the family will accept his marriage to Ji-a, in exchange for giving up his claim to the inheritance. Since he can't very well admit he was her dead wife's kept man, what follows is a desperate, increasingly absurd performance — Seong-hun faking family harmony while Su-yeon's relatives, determined not to hand him a single cent, play along with gritted teeth.
