In the kingdom of Yerak, a king with a dragon's orb in his heart rules alongside dragons. Among its royalty is a "Mani" — one destined to offer their heart to the crown prince. Yoo Riseo, the Mani of this generation, strikes a deal with her river dragon on the day of their bonding ritual: she will give it only three commands before setting it free. When no dragon steps forward for her, one finally does — a dragon named Yeoul. Riseo promises not to let Yeoul regret becoming her dragon, and as agreed, she lets it go out into the world beyond the palace walls, asking only that it send her letters. Eleven years later, Yeoul returns ahead of the Mani ceremony, and Riseo gives her second command: "Show me the sea." And so begins the longest journey of her life. What will her final, third command be?
