In a small provincial neighborhood slated for possible redevelopment, a mother and her two daughters are living quietly when a wealthy stranger moves in next door on a rainy night. The odd thing is, he is never seen during the day — he and whoever lives with him seem to come alive only after dark. The eldest daughter, Haryeong, a high schooler who refuses to let the bullying she faces at school get her down, grows increasingly curious about the mysterious neighbors and begins watching them from a distance. The more she observes, the more questions pile up. Meanwhile, the bullying at school grows worse, whispers and suspicion about the nocturnal newcomers spread through the neighborhood, and the uncertainty surrounding the redevelopment plans unsettles everyone. Caught in the same current of rumors and misunderstanding, the two households find themselves drawn together by an unspoken sense of solidarity.
