On New Year's Day, Mirua visits a fortune teller and walks away with a bizarre curse: she must always have the last word in any conversation, or her entire body will turn to stone. That would be hard enough on its own — then Duke Daira, a man legendarily incapable of letting a message go unanswered, walks into her life. What follows is an endless, excruciating exchange of replies that neither of them can seem to stop. When Daira announces he intends to protect her from the trickster's curse, Mirua starts to suspect something is genuinely wrong with this situation. Slowly, unavoidably, the two keep getting drawn back into each other's orbit, and feelings begin to take root. Then Daira confesses he fell for her from the very first moment — and Mirua, bewildered, can only think back to the time she yelled at everyone to shut up so she could have the final word.
