Miso is a first-year high schooler with no burning passions and no particular goals — life is fine, just a little dull. Then one afternoon on the subway home, she spots her classmate Hyojeong playing a retro handheld game she's never seen before. Hyojeong has always come across as pretty but cold and a little intimidating, yet watching her eyes light up over that tiny screen, Miso feels an inexplicable pull. Summoning her courage, she decides to befriend Hyojeong and discover the world of retro games together. Meanwhile, Miso's older brother Minjun — thirteen years her senior — suddenly moves back home after years away trying to make it as a novelist. While unpacking, he digs out an old game console from his childhood, only to find the cable broken. He and Miso head to a local game shop to fix it, where Minjun runs into Hyoju, an elementary school friend he'd long forgotten. As he sees her again, long-buried memories begin to slowly resurface.
