Inspired by the legendary myths of Jeju Island, this fantasy action series is set in a world shattered by a great catastrophe, where humanity survives in scattered small tribes. Each tribe has its gifted — individuals with mysterious abilities who serve as both sword and shield for their people. A fragile peace was long maintained by a pact among the gifted, but it begins to crumble when a northern tribe declares itself a nation and sets out to conquer the others by force, conscripting children into an elite warrior corps to lead its campaigns. Among those caught up in the conquests is a boy named Garo, who harbors a latent power of destruction. The young prince-warrior Mohon leads his fighters and Garo to claim the primordial island at the edge of the known world, where a shipwreck leaves them stranded among the indigenous people of that ancient place. Living alongside this peaceful community slowly transforms Mohon and his soldiers. But back home, the empire has developed a fearsome new weapon — explosives — and another prince sets sail with an army to finish the conquest. As cannonfire meets divine spirits summoned by the islanders' shamans, Mohon must choose between empire and conscience in a clash of colonization and freedom, technology and spirit, invasion and peace. Season 1 of Gods' Island unfolds across three arcs: Fate, Spiral, and Choice.
