Sinopsis

Bi Ryuyeon lost his father — the only family he had — at the age of ten. Using the sculpting skills his father taught him, he carved statues of both his parents and placed them at their graves. A passing old man sees the work and offers to teach the boy the greatest martial arts in the world. Suspicious but with nowhere else to go, and tempted by what sounds like a genuinely impressive technique, Ryuyeon takes the old man on as his master — a decision he quickly comes to regret. From that day on the master works him like a slave and puts him through an absurd training regimen, and aside from the memories of Lin, the first true friend he ever made, his days are filled with nothing but brutal chores and the constant threat of collapse. He endures it all, secretly building up his strength, until a chance encounter with a group of young martial artists called the Vermilion Bird Squad essentially falls into his lap. The experience sets his sights on a distant goal: gaining entry to Cheonmu Academy, the prestigious martial arts school operated under the Murim Alliance, far away from this mountain.
