Yeon has been reincarnated as a background extra inside a novel she wrote herself — except instead of a romance, it turns out to be a martial arts epic. She decides to look on the bright side: at least she gets to see her beloved male lead in person. But before she can find him, she comes face to face with his twin brother, Danmok-bi — the story's future villain. Caught up in a brutal backstory he hasn't yet survived, the teenage Danmok-bi is nothing more than a small, frail, broken child. Moved by his suffering, Yeon makes a decision: she will raise him so he never becomes that villain. She pours her heart into caring for the boy cast aside by his clan, and watches with quiet pride as he grows into a fine young man. Then, just as she prepares to slip away from the story for good — "Why did you run, Yeon?" His radiant smile carries a terrifying edge. "You raised me. That means you're responsible for me." The villain she saved has no intention of letting her go.
